Cedar City, UT – September 2, 2025 —In loving memory of Kaylee Dutton, a passionate, driven, and community-minded young woman, her family has established the Kaylee Dutton Legacy Scholarship Fund to support underserved students pursuing hands-on technical education at Southwest Technical College (Southwest Tech).

Kaylee, a proud Cedar City native and graduate of Canyon View High School, was just 17 years old and full of ambition. She completed high school early and had plans to attend Southwest Tech to pursue a career in a technical field where she could make a difference in her community. Education was Kaylee’s path to personal growth and impact—and her family is now carrying that vision forward for others in her name.

About the Scholarship:
The Kaylee Dutton Legacy Scholarship will provide financial assistance to students from underserved backgrounds who are enrolled in the following programs at Southwest Tech: Emergency Medical Technician & Advanced Emergency Medical Technician, Paramedic, Firefighter, Automotive Technology & Welding Technology.

These programs reflect Kaylee’s strong interest in public service and skilled trades, and they represent careers that serve and build stronger communities. Her family hopes the scholarship will help open doors for students with limited means but unlimited potential.

“All proceeds from our fundraising efforts go directly to the Kaylee Dutton Memorial Scholarship Fund at Southwest Tech,” said Kaylee’s mother, Kimberlee Dutton. “Kaylee cannot be with us, but your support and generosity can help a student realize a brighter future in her honor.”

President Brennan Wood said, “Through a heartbreaking loss, the Dutton family is choosing to uplift others—and that is a powerful legacy. We are incredibly grateful that Kaylee’s passion for learning and service will live on through this scholarship fund. It will give hope and opportunity to students who need it most, and it will honor Kaylee’s spirit in the most meaningful way—by helping others move forward.”
