STECH Training advancement center (stac)

STAC (Southwest Tech Training Advancement Center) is a purpose-built training environment designed to prepare first responders, emergency personnel, and public safety students for the complex and high-pressure challenges they will encounter in the field. Through immersive, scenario-based training, participants engage in realistic simulations such as fire suppression, tactical emergency medical response, search and rescue, and disaster coordination.

The STAC plays a vital role in enhancing the region’s capacity to respond to emergencies, meet workforce demands, & support economic development through industry-aligned training. By providing a controlled space with realistic settings, we enable students and trainees to receive hands-on training that prepares them for real-life scenarios.

The Role of Public Safety Training in the Community

Training in public and workplace safety is essential to the well-being and economic strength of rural communities. The STAC supports both emergency preparedness and business resilience by ensuring individuals are equipped for high-demand roles and critical situations. Through STAC programs, we:

    • Build a reliable pipeline of skilled emergency personnel for both rural and urban agencies
    • Provide OSHA and industrial safety training for the region’s manufacturing and trade sectors
    • Prepare responders and workers for a wide range of real-world emergencies and workplace hazards
    • Offer continuing education and advanced training for professionals already in the field
    • Engage youth and future professionals through outreach and career awareness initiatives
