SouthwestTech_Icon_Firefighter Are you someone who has always been able to take the heat?  The career path to become a firefighter starts here at Southwest Technical College.  The Firefighter program will provide you with practical and intense training, equipping you to handle adrenaline pumping situations while protecting your community.  During this rigorous training, you will learn to assess emergency situations, prioritize risks, preserve property and ultimately: save lives!  To prepare you for the International Fire Service Accreditation Council certification, you will be taught in the classroom and in realistic, hands-on experiences with live fire, vehicle extrication, and rescue operations.

Program Specific Enrollment Requirements:

  • Candidates must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age prior to any testing or with issuing of certification by the Certification Council.
  • Candidates must submit a completed physical form stating medical clearance by a doctor to participate in the program.

Cost: $2,429.00
