On May 21, 2021, Southwest Technical College hosted its annual Car Show featuring nearly 30 classic cars restored by local community members in the area. The shop in the Automotive Building, located at 510 West 800 South in Cedar City, brought hundreds of attendees in from out of the wind on Friday evening. Hot dogs were grilled and served in the garage, and community members also visited a custom soda bar with mix-in flavor options. This event is hosted in hopes of bringing together members of the community with a love for automobiles and a desire to recognize each other for their accomplishments.
This year’s event also recognized Richard Wittwer, an automotive technology instructor who is retiring after 43 years. Richard’s service and dedication to generations of automotive mechanics will be missed by peers and students alike. The program also wishes to thank Hal Larson, who assisted with the pinstriping on the retirement gift.
The winners of the 2021 Car Show include:
- Honorable Mention, Don Brown 67 VW Beetle,
- Honorable Mention, Bob Ruzzamenti 55 Chevrolet Pickup,
- Best in Show, Dennis Johnson 71 Dodge Challenger.
