Southwest Tech course offerings for students in Iron County School District.

Culinary Arts

Students will be trained for career opportunities in the food service/culinary arts industry. Students will have the opportunity to learn and practice safety and sanitation procedures, and to use and maintain commercial food service equipment. They will be introduced to modern professional cuisine which will provide a theoretical and technical foundation for the adult culinary program such as knife skills, culinary math, conversions, and basic cooking methods.

This course provides 100 hours towards the Culinary Arts Certificate Program. 

Grade Eligibility: 11-12
Additional Student Requirements: ProStart must be taken as a
pre-requisite or taken simultaneously

Registration: To register for this course, please indicate on your high school course request form or talk with your high school counselor.

Courses, details, and fees are subject to change.  If you are a high school student and an Iron County resident, and you are unable to afford the costs associated with your Southwest Tech course(s), you may qualify for a scholarship provided by the Iron County Commission.  Please complete this simple application.
