On January 30, 2018, Daniel Ortega (Southwest Tech Student of the Year) was honored at a special dinner with Lieutenant Governor Spencer J. Cox, along with seven other recent graduates of technical education.
During the event, Lt. Governor Cox reemphasized Utah’s commitment to technical education by sharing Governor Herbert’s declaration of making 2018 the “Year of Technical Education” in Utah.
The eight students were honored for their outstanding achievements and represented over 40,000 students currently receiving technical training in Utah’s higher education systems.
